Yes, most churches will shut down. Many have swum in the sea of “Religion” freely and have not been aware of the 501c3 bait cast before them. That bait and hook is about to draw them in.
At present, we are observing the belligerency of several recalcitrant big fish that refuse to shut their doors or at least remain 6 feet from Sister Doe on one side and Brother Moe on the other.
Many churches in the U.S have grown tremendously in size, both in the parishioner count and, of course, in the dollar count. As the situation now stands, we will soon see who are the real deals and who the charlatans are.
Many do not realize the power that keeps scores of Church doors open is the key marked 501c3. With this key, many institutions began and many flourish.
Scores of churches had their beginning in basements and living rooms with Brother Joe, his wife Sally, their three kids, grandma and the next door neighbor. When Uncle Sam offered the bait of 501c3, Joe, wife and all grabbed hold with a death defying grip which allowed them to expand their humble house church into the now ubiquitous megachurches presently dotting the land.
Uncle Sam “GAVETH” and now, Uncle Sam is poised to “TAKETH” away.”
The original churches in Bible Times were small groups of family members and friends and were not depending on Caesar to supply them with 501c3’s or any other form which allow them to grow in size or stature.
Most churches are built with platforms and altars, which is understandable because it is necessary for the speaker to be seen and heard, but the speakers of today have taken it upon themselves to be seen, heard, immortalized in books, CD’s, and any other means of recognition one may conjure up.
Now with the new tool of COVID-19 in hand, Uncle Sam and all of the powers that be are on the verge of snatching back 501c3’s. This action, although seemingly damaging, will also bring out the true Church of God, because when the sea dries up, one can readily see the world that was hidden beneath that sea.It is evident that the powers that be desire to make Christianity a thing of the past. Christianity to many is but a big stop sign…”THOU SHALL NOT.” The large parade of folks that want to: “WE SHALL” are tickled pink and highly gratified at the new paradigm shift, or as many are calling it, ” The NEW NORMAL” as long as the nation and the world is shut down and the 6 foot interval remains in affect, it is a well known fact that most churches will dissolve. Perhaps this outcome is the one that was desperately desired and once it is complete, then and only then will the nations of the world return to their bulging sports arenas with bulging crowds and seemingly happy days, but left in the dust of time will be the Christian Churches which will be unable to obtain their 501c3’s; then and only then will the true heralds of God immerge without the fanfare or trappings of being large or cumbersome, just the way it was when Apostle Paul made his journeys.
